sathya sai Baba-Peace Wheel

In April 2004, after a trip to the Ashram of Sai Baba in Andhra Pradesh, India,
the Peace Wheel was born.
The idea, to create a basic design portraying the unity of faiths.

A construction was made. A large replica of a ships wheel, the face of which was painted with multi faith symbols.
In the centre is a view of Warwick Avenue Bridge, Little Venice,
symbolising life as a bridge to cross over, the power of faith and trust to see one through.
The deep blue of the water and sky seen as divine elements.

The wheel was mounted on the fore deck of Barge Crook ( its original name )
a restored Regents Canal Barge moored in Brownings Pool, Little Venice London.

An opportunity to launch the idea arose during the May Day Bank Holiday Cavalcade celebrations at Little Venice.
The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Westminster, Jan Prendergast and Father Gary Bradley of St. Saviours Church,
agreed to be photographed at the helm. The first of many people from different continents and cultural backgrounds.

The project was blessed by Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the following year.
